CEO: Rosneft only global major demonstrating net profit in 2020
MOSCOW, Feb 15 (PRIME) -- Russian oil producer Rosneft was the only global major who demonstrated a net profit in 2020, CEO Igor Sechin told President Vladimir Putin at a meeting on Monday.
"We published a report under international standards some time ago. It is extremely positive for the company and I must tell you that in spite of a dramatic influence of the pandemic, let's say, Rosneft showed a net profit for the year, the only one among global majors," Sechin said.
He said that international investment banks and analysts forecast energy deficit and growth of its price because of depletion of the resource base, flooding of deposits, decline of inflow and new investment in oil and gas because of the green energy trend. Rosneft will try to cover the deficit by launching fields.
According to the official, Rosneft will drive associated oil gas recycling to 95% in the next two years from the current 83%. The company has also adopted a plan for greenhouse gas emission prevention and minimization of carbon footprint on the key facilities.
Sechin also said that Rosneft has confirmed the presence of oil in Zapadno-Irkinskaya well on the Taimyr Peninsula.
